AMD a lansat in aceasta saptamana doua game noi de microprocesoare: Phenom 9100e si Phenom X3.

9100e este un model quad-core economic, cu un consum de 65W (comparativ, celelalte modele de Phenom consuma 95 / 125 W). Noul Phenom are viteza de 1.8 GHz si este alimentat cu 1.10~1.15 volti. Acest model va fi probabil cel mai ieftin quad-core de pe piata. Pretul procesorului AMD Phenom™ X4 9100e inca nu este cunoscut.

In aceeasi zi s-a lansat si mult asteptatul (?) Phenom X3. Teoretic, aceasta gama de procesoare va avea performante apropiate de gama Phenom X4 (in special cu chipsetul AMD 780G), dar - avand in vedere ca un miez de procesor este nefunctional - pretul ar trebui sa fie mai mic. AMD Phenom II X4 940 si 920

We have to say we're very impressed, but mostly because of the very competitive price AMD has hit. Without knowing this during testing we have to say we were more reluctant as a 3.0GHz Phenom II X4 was hitting 2.67 - 2.83GHz Core 2 Quad, meaning the Intel Core 2 CPUs are more efficient in a direct clock to clock comparison.
